DW Drums started out as a flailing drum school. Jon, the founder, wasn't the best teacher so they started selling products to stay alive. DW designed a case/drum stool with adjustable height and received a 100 piece order. DW realised if they can create products that help people drum better they would be in business.

To put that in contrast, 30 years later they found 500-year old hardwood logs preserved under water. They used treasure hunters to pull them out and make the 30th anniversary drums kits from them. The treasured kits have tone like no other from the impossible-to-replicate wood.

Anyway, where were we? DW started out specialising in pedals. In 1980, they went into manufacturing their first chain drive pedal. In 83, the first double pedal design was pumped out changing the drumming game.

The quality and innovation got backed by huge artists. With the support DW grew their hardware range. Looking back, they have developed and patented so many features that make their kits stand out.
